Donna Ione Jeck

��Donna Ione Jeck, 92, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Holiday Resort. She was born January 30, 1923 in Madison, Kansas the daughter of Harry and Mamie Clopton Derbyshire. As a child the family moved to Boulder, Colorado where Donna attended grade school. Donna returned to Madison and attending Madison High School and graduated with the Class of 1941. She went on to receive a degree from the Emporia School of Business Donna was joined in marriage to Lawrence H. Jeck on September 19, 1942 in Emporia. They moved to Kimball, Nebraska in 1956. Donna and Lawrence returned to Emporia in December of 1988. Donna was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Donna enjoyed bowling and had a lifelong fondness of butterflies. Lawrence preceded Donna in death in 2007. She was also preceded by her parents; a sister Darlene and two brothers, Dale and John. She will remain in the hearts of her son, Larry Jeck of Emporia; sister-in-law, Anna Morris of rural Allen; numerous extended family and dear friends. Cremation has taken place with memorial services being planned for 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 6, 2015 at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison. Inurnment will follow services at Blakely Cemetery north of Madison. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and sent in care to the funeral home.
