Dollie Roberta Damron

Dollie Roberta Damron, 88 passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at Holiday Resort in Emporia.   
 She was born on July 14, 1932 in Altoona, Kansas the daughter of Edmund and Lavinna Gentry Loudenbarger.             
It was in Altoona that she met the love of her life, Walter Leon Damron. Dollie and Walter were joined in marriage on June 12, 1951 in a small chapel in Altoona. During the early years of their marriage, Dollie and Walter moved throughout Kansas and Colorado while he served with the United States Army. In 1973 they made their home in Madison. Dollie was a proud homemaker and devoted mother to her ten children. She approached every situation with loving kindness and a lot of patience. Dollie will live on in the hearts and memories of her daughters, Emma Damron of Madison, Patricia Gehring and her husband David of Madison, Tammy King and her husband Ed of Chanute and Kim Hannon of Chanute; sons, Steven Damron of Heyburn, Idaho, Walter Damron Jr., Robert Damron of Madison;  Eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Carmen Wise of Haysville; a brother, Leroy Loudenbarger of Cherryvale; numerous extended family and a host of dear friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Walter; sons, William Damron, Michael Damron, Robert Damron (infant), Patrick Damron (infant) and Shirden Damron; a daughter, Dollie Kay Damron; two grandchildren; her parents and five siblings.  Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will follow services at Virgil Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Home at P.O. Box #488, Madison, Kansas 66860.
