David M. Jensen

David M. “Dave” Jensen, 76, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

He was born March 10, 1942 in Ida Grove, Iowa, the son of David and Marcia Fleenor Jensen. 

Dave was joined in marriage to Jane Marshall on June 21, 2002 in Topeka. 

Dave was employed as a truck driver for the majority of his life.  He drove for I.B.P. which gradually brought him to Kansas. Dave would go on to drive for several companies, he most recently drove for Davis Farms Trucking and had previously driven for Don Jones Trucking for 32 years.  

Dave will live on in the hearts of his wife, Jane of their home; his children, Debbie Campbell of Des Moines, Iowa, David and his wife Lesley of Sioux Falls, South Dakota,  Kimberly and her husband David Champeau of Haworth, Oklahoma, Janelle and Cory McMillian of Omaha, Nebraska, Douglas and his girl friend Savanna of Everest, Kansas, twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Judy Robinson of Des Moines, Iowa, Sandra Peerson and her husband Delbert of Storm Lake, Iowa, Terry Jensen of Topeka,Jerrilyn Knapp and her husband Dick of Cherokee, Iowa, Jerry Jensen of Sutherland, Iowa, Dan Jensen and his wife Fay of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; several nieces and nephews; He    was preceded in death by his father, David Jensen; step mother, Dolores Jensen; birth mother, Marcia Martinez; brothers, Fred Jensen and Russ Woodward; sisters, Joyce Jensen and Ivana Woodard-Lewis. 

Dave will be missed by his entire family and countless friends. “Keep on Trucking, till we meet again.” 

Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on July 15, 2018 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Reading Community Building in Reading, KS.  A private inurnment will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Dave Jensen Memorial Fund and sent in care of Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, P.O. 43, Lebo, KS 66856.  Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
