Dale E. Vandevord

Dale E. Vandevord, 86, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Peterson Assisted Living in Osage City.

Dale Eugene Vandevord was born August 8, 1934 in rural Scranton, the son of Clifford L. and Anna Mae (Jones) Vandevord. He graduated from Burlingame High School.

He was joined in marriage to Mary Flora Fisher on November 24, 1954. To this union, five children were born Steven, Tina, Cindy, Richard and Eugenia.

Dale was a farmer and rancher his entire life in Osage County.

Dale will be forever remembered by his three daughters, Tina (Eddie) Burkett of Scranton, Cindy Cordonier of Kansas City, Missouri and Eugenia Akers of Scranton; a son, Richard (Heidi) Vandevord of Scranton; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Proceeded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Flora; a son, Steven Vandevord; three brothers, Bud, John, Robert Vandevord and a sister, Anna Louise Fender.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame, Kansas. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City.
