Charles Lloyd South

July 10, 1958 — January 10, 2024

Charles “Lloyd” South, 65, of Larned, KS passed away January 10, 2024 at Life Care Center of Burlington, KS after a long battle with cancer.

Lloyd was born July 10, 1958 to parents Louis I. and Lois J. (Ford) South in Wichita, KS. For many years Lloyd worked in construction as a roofer. He loved to go fishing, especially if it was with his family. There were countless days spent together at the lake at their favorite fishing spots. When he wasn’t fishing, Lloyd was one of the biggest fans of the Kansas City Chiefs. He had a whole collection of Chiefs gear to wear.

Family was always the biggest part of Lloyd’s life. Holidays and birthdays always guaranteed a visit or call from Lloyd. On the top of that list was his daughter, whom he loved with his whole heart.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, Louis I. and Lois J. South; and 3 brothers, Andy Richardson, Louis G. South, and Rick South.

His loving memory and love for fishing lives on in the hearts of his daughter, Crissy Woodward of Wyoming; 3 sisters, Linda “Kay” Snyder, Jerrie Lynn South DeRose, and Mildred South; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial fishing trip to Fall River will be held later in the year (date to be determined based of everyone’s availability) for all friends and family who wish to attend. Lloyd now rests in the care of God’s hands, with all family members who departed before him, and they are keeping the fire lit for us all.
