Beverly Darlene Ditty

Beverly Darlene Ditty, 85, passed away early Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Vintage Park Assisted Living in Eureka. She was born August 29, 1933 near Quincy, Kansas the daughter of Pike Montgomery and Edith Schwint Ditty. Beverly was the youngest of five sisters and four brothers. In March of 1934 the family moved south of Virgil. Beverly remained in the Virgil area her entire life.  Beverly attended Virgil High School and graduated with the Class of 1951. She took a position  at the Virgil Post Office in 1957. Beverly began as a P.T.F. Clerk and was promoted to Postmaster in 1973. After serving the community for 44 years she would retire on May 3, 2001.   Her first love was being on the farm where she could be outdoors, help work cattle, ride horses , tend her garden and cook for others.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday October, 15, 2018 at the Quincy Cemetery. Beverly requested that memorial contributions be made to the Eureka Hospital and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Home at P.O. Box #488, Madison, Kansas 66860.
