Betty Jean Haynes

Betty Jean Haynes, 87 of Eskridge, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 at Peterson Health Care in Osage City. She was born June 29, 1929 in Brownell, Kansas the daughter of Charles and Felecia Jackson               Thomas.               Betty attended Eskridge High School and graduated with the Class of 1947. She married Duane Clark in 1947 and the couple lived in Florida and later Topeka. They would later divorce.   Betty was a bookkeeper and began her career at the 1st National Bank in Topeka and later worked at Harry’s I.G.A. In 1972 Betty married Asa Haynes. They later divorced. Betty retired from State Office Systems in Topeka at age 65 and moved to Texas. She was married Ron Springeman in December of 2001 in McKinney, Texas. They would make their home south of Eskridge in 2010.   Betty will live on in the hearts of her husband, Ron of their home; a daughter, Pamela Jean Clark of Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, Danny Dean Clark of Arkansas, Steven Lee Clark of Arkansas and Terry Lynn Clark of Eskridge; two brothers, Charles Thomas Jr. of Eskridge and Harold Duane Thomas of Hanna, Indiana; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren and numerous extended family and dear friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Irene Eastman and a brother, Dale Vernon Thomas.  Graveside services will be held at  10:30 A.M., Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Eskridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Sunday evening at the VanArsdale  Funeral Home in Eskridge.
