��Arlene W. Jones of Reading, passed away late Wednesday April 29. 2015 at Holiday Resort in Emporia. One day after her 95th birthday. She was born April 28, 1920 in Zeeland, North Dakota, the daughter of Martin and Lydia Schmidt Reimer. Arlene was joined in marriage to Arthur G. Jones on April 28, 1944 in Emporia. This day held special meaning to them as it was both Arlene and Arthur's birth day. Arlene and Arthur farmed in the Reading area their entire married lives. They became partners in the Reading Grain and Lumber Company in 1958. Arlene kept the records for the family businesses and raised their family. Arlene and Arthur enjoyed sixty five years together until his death on December 9, 2009. She was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Arthur Jones on October 6, 2006 and a brother Clarence Reimer. She will remain in the hearts of her sons, David Jones of Emporia and Don Jones and his wife Sue of Reading; a sister, Ramona Evans of Lawrence and a brother Lester Reimer and his wife Eilene of Lebo; four grandchildren, Brent Jones and his wife Heather of Reading, Jessica Kirkpatrick and her husband Chris of Osage City, Curt Jones of Kansas City, Missouri and Kinsey Jones of Americus and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Reading United Methodist Church. Burial will follow services at Reading Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Reading United Methodist Church or Hand In Hand Hospice and sent in care of the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home.
