Alice Georgie Davis

Alice Georgie Davis, 97, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at her home.

Alice Georgie McCullough was born September 23, 1924 in Portsmouth, Virginia to James H and Cora (Overman) McCullough. Shortly after, they moved to Norfolk, Virginia where she went to school and graduated. After graduation, she worked at Chesapeake Potomac Telephone Company.

She was joined in marriage to Acie W. Davis, Sr. in June 1945. They moved to Osage City in 1948. He passed away in 1975.

Alice was a lifetime member of United Methodist Church. She was a member of gad abouts, American Legion Auxiliary, and UMW. She worked for Hallmark Cards for 13 years in Osage City.

She is survived by five sons, Acie W. Davis, Jr. (Sarah), Jim (Shelley) Davis, John Davis, Don (Jan) Davis, Jeffrery (Sheri) Davis; five grandchildren, Justin Davis, Sr., Brandon (Susan) Davis, Chrissy (Ryan) Bayliss, Quentin (Tracee) Davis, and Leslie Davis; 12 great-grandchildren, Courtney (Tyler) Hultgren, Justin Davis, Jr., Jessica (Jacob) Thompson, River Davis, Sara Davis, Cole (Mariah) House, Noah Bayless, Meah Bayless, Luke Davis, Jack Davis, Britton Hamman, Savannah Hamman; 4 great-great-grandchildren, Izabell House, Logan and Olivia Hultgren, Willow Thompson; one sister, Jeannette Wall, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family Lorraine Renner, Dodie Nech, both who stayed close to Alice and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Mildred Stoudenmier.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2022 at United Methodist Church in Osage City, Kansas. Burial to follow at Osage City Cemetery. Friends may pay respects from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening, January 16, 2022 with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City.
